Virasat Festivals and Cultural Events:

Indian Pavilion – Carassauga Festival of Cultures, Mississauga Virasat Media has been instrumental in bringing South Asian culture to the City of Mississauga as key partner and centre stage manager for the India Pavilion at the very popular Carassauga Festival of Cultures. Each year approximately 70,000 regional visitors and residents of Mississauga enjoy India’s beauty and diversity of South Asian cultures, when visiting the India Pavilion, which is filled with performances, cultural artifacts, costumes, jewelry and regional food.

Malton Community Festival
Virasat Media has supported the Malton Community Festival a non-profit volunteer run community organization. Through dedication and steady work the festival has become the face of Malton, Ontario. In 2015 Festival recorded 3,000 visitors. The full day free event includes, multi-cultural entertainment, a family crafts program, sports activities, art exhibits, and community displays.

iMela International and Bhangra at the Falls 2013, 2015
Virasat Media has organized a number of dance competitions including the Bhangra at the Falls Dance Competition held at Niagara Falls in 2013 and 2015. As part of the iMelia International the dance events in part attracted approximately 35,000 tourists in total to the Niagara Falls area from across the Greater Golden Horseshoe and the Northern United States.

In the 1990s, Baljinder Tamber started his media career as a marketer and host at Sur Sagar Radio & Television. Recognizing his well-received hosting ability, Mr. Tamber created the Watan Media Group, and developed a 24-hour radio and Newspaper. He later served as the Marketing Director and CEO of Aikam Media, which included Radio Punjab and Aikam TV.

In early 2011, he launched Virasat Media the parent organization for Virasat Radio, Virasat TV and the quarterly Virasat Magazine.

In addition to his media career, Baljinder Tamber is a strong supporter of community development. He is a founding member of the Sikh Sports Club, Brampton, and was the organization’s President for over a decade. Mr. Tamber is a past Director of the Peel Sports & Cultural Club. He also served as the Chair of the Malton Community Festival and as the Chair of India Pavilion at the Carassauga Festival of Cultures, in Mississauga On a national scale, Baljinder Tamber formed an organization to support the Prevention of Violence Against Women in Sikh Communities across Canada. In addition to this, he is actively involved in and gives back to other charities as volunteer manager and as a media sponsor.

Through his work, Baljinder Tamber has collected an abundance of experience and grown his networks. He is now noted as being one of the most trusted people in Canadian based South Asian focused Media.
